The AcaBelles are Florida State University's premier all-female a cappella group established in 2000. The 'Belles have been the South Champions of the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) both in 2009 and 2011. In our 2011/2012 season, we earned 2nd place and Best Choreography at SoJam, 2nd place and Outstanding Choreography at ICCA south quarterfinals, and 2nd place, Outstanding Choreography, Outstanding Soloist, and Outstanding arrangement at ICCA semifinals. Aside from competing, we also released our album Seamless, which earned 4 CARA nominations and a CARA award for Best Female Collegiate Arrangement.
During our 2013-2014 season, we've made waves at A Cappella Ed and SoJam A Cappella Festival. Our cover of "Royals" produced by The Vocal Company has over 7.5 million views and has been featured on Good Morning America, CNN, MSN, People, HLN, Elle, Seventeen, and more. With the incredible response to our video, we're working hard to continue on the path to success. This spring, we were able to record a full length album thanks to a successfully funded Kickstarter campaign. We released Rebel on August 15th and went on a week long tour around Florida to share our music with our family and friends.
This fall, we added four new 'Belles to our family and got straight to work on making new music. After an intense month of learning over 20 minutes of music and choreography, we went on to become the 2014 SoJam Champions - a first in AcaBelles history! We have big plans for the rest of our year, including a performance at FSU's Pow Wow, new music videos, and ICCA competition.
